Who’s on the ballot where you live

Here is the list of candidates running for your local school board and city council where you live on Nov. 5.

Colo

Two new candidates–Arlo Starbuck and John C. Wilson–will go head-to-head for Colo’s Mayor position this year. Additionally, Colo’s Council At Large seat is being sought after by two newcomers – Austin Fortsch and Coltin Adams – and incumbent Rodney Geisinger.

McCallsburg

Three incumbents return to the McCallsburg ballot: McCallsburg Mayor Chris Erickson is running for a second term, as well as Council At Large returners Jacki Meimann and Kirby Christensen.

Zearing

The ballot for Zearing will include four incumbents and two newcomers for city council. The race for Zearing Mayor includes incumbent Martin Herr and newcomer Tim Reed, and the four candidates–three of which are incumbents–are up running for the two open Council At Large seats: incumbents JR Murrell, David D. Skinner, and Adam Koester, as well as newcomer Lisa Obrecht.

Colo-NESCO School Board

The Collo-Nesco school board ballot will include four incumbents who are seeking the district’s four open seats. Returners Bradley Kohlwes and Jon Cutler are running for the two open Director District 1 seats. Additionally, incumbents Joel Niemeyer and Levi Bappe are on the ballot for the two open Director District 2 seats.

Nevada

City Council

Incumbents Barbara K. Mittman, Ward 1, and Sandra Ehrig, Ward 3, and at-large councilman Jason Sampson will seek re-election. Sampson will be challenged by Charles Good and Lynn Lathrop.

School board

A total of six candidates–including three incumbents–have filed for the Nevada Community School District’s three open seats. Newcomers Elizabeth Rodgers, Kimberly Stephens, and Stephanie Spence will enter the race, while incumbents David Sutherland, Tom Maier, and Leanne Harter will seek re-election. Martin Chitty and David Schmitz are also running for school board.
